Outreach

At PlumPot, one of our dreams are to bring electronics engineering to the youth. We have all been hit by the Covid-19, and the effect of this virus might be a lasting way longer than we hoped for.

First world countries will fine, they always are, but the developing countries will take a bigger hit.
We are big believers that your mindset will determine how we come out of these crises. We can all feel sorry for ourselves or think of ways to make most of this. In South Africa we have a saying, ” n Boer maak n plan”. Which means that doesn’t matter in what situation you are in, you can make a plan to get out of it or change the situation for the better.

We believe developing countries will need to start getting big in innovation and developing their products, and they need to rely less on developed countries.
This is where PlumPot wants to help. We want to start getting equipment into schools, such as soldering irons and components. If we can start having young kids already start playing with platforms like Arduino and building small devices, this will help in the long run where a student will already go into university or work, knowing about how to take an idea and bring it to life. Just look at the need for manufacturing and design we are facing at the moment concerning ventilators.

The downside of Hardware for Engineering is that it can be costly. Most of the products get made where the Dollar or Euro gets used as a base, and this makes it even more expensive for countries with a weaker currency.
We have created this page to raise funds to get this equipment to school. We don’t believe in getting free money, so we designed this shirt to show your support, all profits will go to get the equipment into schools. If you wish to donate to this cause, please click on the donate button and follow the steps.
